Idol of Pomos Timesurfing

drawing by Sarah Fenwick

This drawing by Sarah Fenwick is a contemporary take on the Idol of Pomos, an ancient fertility symbol that was discovered in 1878 in the village of Pomos on the northwest coast of Cyprus. It’s made of clay and dates back to the Chalcolithic period, between 3000 and 2000 BCE.

It not only captures the beauty and cultural significance of the Idol of Pomos but also conveys a powerful message about the movement of time and the ability of art to communicate through the millennia.

Inspired by Cypriot antiquity ‘Idol of Pomos’.
